About GREETIN
GREETIN: Accelerating the Green Heat Transition in Europe
GREETIN (GREEn Heat Transformation INitiative) supports the transformation of district heating and cooling systems across Europe by helping municipalities and energy utilities move from fossil fuels to renewable and waste heat sources. The project develops investment-ready plans, business models, and practical solutions that enable local authorities and district heating operators to implement sustainable heating systems with confidence.
Working across six European countries and ten pilot cases, GREETIN creates replicable models that can be adopted by hundreds of cities and utilities throughout Europe. The project aims to unlock significant investments in renewable energy infrastructure while reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing energy security.
